Looking to put the bedliner on my rocker panels...

A) Will the DIY kit from an auto parts store suffice?

2)How far down do you go for prep? Just scuff to hold? Or deeper?

iii) I'm competent, just not experienced.

Look forward to hearing from you all... I get all my best ideas from you guys!

DIY kits work great, herculiner is a popular choose but there's several other companies that even put it in rattle cans

Just scuff away the gloss, don't go to bare metal
Use a surface cleaner before and after sanding/scuffing

I like your outline form too haha

Make sure there is no shine. Use a good wax remover to assure a good bond.

Becareful with wax and grease removers vs. surface cleaners
You want a surface cleaner, I never really realized there was a difference before

I did mine earlier this week. I used Duplicolor bed armor aerosol cans. It has been a couple of days and is pretty solid. I only did the bottom 6 inches and the bumper because it had some rust.

I did mine at the beginning of the summer and I used the duplicolor. I've also used the hurc which works well. Just stay away from the rustoleum kit I think it sucks. Just personal opinion though obviously! I would recommend getting the applicator kit for it though it makes everything go on much smoother!

Nice! I thought about doing that as well... I love the blacked out look. Does that stuff stick well? Or is that all about prep too... Lol.

Prepping it is easy just clean it up real good. Just make sure to lay it on thick coatwise put on like 4 or 5 coats on each wheel
