It will come of with a sander. Just gonna hard and dirty. And you probably don't want to breathe that dust either. I'll take some pictures of mine tomorrow and show you how they've held up. Been about four months now. With snow and ice and salt three or four times.

Alright cool thanks! You sanded yours down?

Just scuffed them like you did. But the bars are just chrome-plated some-other-metal. It's just the chrome-plating process makes a pretty durable finish.

Here's the truck.

Here's the bars. Couple of small nicks in them, but for the time, effort, and money I think they're holding up pretty good. And it would be pretty easy to touch these up.

Dupli color shadow for the wheels? What's that? I've been toying with painting now because it's gonna be so long before I can get new ones

No...dead battery. And tires are unsafe to drive on. Shadow is a translucent black you spray on chrome to darken it up. Then a clearcoat. I'm just not convinced I want to use it yet.

So I got a new update for everyone! It has hardened up a bit, doesn't come off as easy but still comes off with my fingernail but it takes more force, should I just sand it down a little more and use some self etching primer? I shouldn't have to take off all the chrome right?

New update:

So I went and bought an 80 grit sandpaper pad for my dads automatic hand sander and it works wonders! Took about 5-10 minutes for half of the bar! Should be able to prime it tonight, and have it bed lined tomorrow!

Nice. I'm thinking of redoing mine now that I have access to a media blaster. I'll probably wait until the weather warms up some, though.

Yeah I do wanna do my toolbox eventually. I'm looking for something very grippy! Gripper than bed armor but I can't find Herculiner or rhino liner in spray cans anywhere so I just bought some rust oleum truck bed coating.
