Hey guys, I'm hoping somebody has run into something like this before. I recently bought an 07 Quad Cab at auction, and didn't realize the extent of the damage until after I won the bid (since you can't drive the vehicles before bidding). The previous owner ate a curb or something really hard, and bent the front passenger side lower control arm mount over pretty far, and broke some of the welds in the process. He also bent the crossmember, but that's an easy replacement. I'll attach pictures. From what I can tell, I should be able to bend the mount back into place, and I'd think I could just pay a fab shop to weld some really beefy plates on it to make sure it hasn't lost any structural integrity. Has anybody done something like that before? Any better ideas? Thanks in advance!

That's pretty gnarly!

Going to be a challenge to bend that back into place but I think once you have it there, you are correct that it could be re-welded and some plate added to beef up the area some. Probably be a good idea to go over the welds on the other side and have matching plate reinforcement added there too.

Once it's all done, be sure to get an alignment done too.

Or go nuts and take the opportunity to tear out all the front IFS crap and put a solid axle up front!

Thanks man, I would definitely rather go with the solid axle, but I've got some more money to dump into this thing so I'm going to try to make this work. Appreciate the reply!

I did (well actually my wife did) simular damage to my 04 and had to have a frame shop get the bracket back in its proper place. They said it was a strong area and not an easy pull. I would think once you get it back where it needs to be, a little welding and bracing and you should be good to go.
