Hi. I'm picking up my new truck next week. Wonder if anyone has advice for me on cap brands. I'm looking at Jeraco vs. A.R.E. right now. Will be towing a 28' trailer and have two dogs in the back. Thanks.

I have the are and its nice mine locks when the tailgate locks with the ley fob. I bought it because i put the are on my 2000 z71 in 2000 and ot still works good even original gas shocks the paint did get bad but that was my fault i let a guy buff it and he ruined the clear coat. Only drawback is they are heavier than the fold ups or soft covers but they are much better built

Don't know if you crate your dogs or not, but check if one of them offers pet screen guards, I know Leer does for some of there caps.

Dont have one on my RAM but on my '14 Silverado I did a bunch of research and went with ARE. Quick notes;

Fit -10 out of 10. Contour lines made it look oem. Even gaps etc.
Finish - 7.5 out of 10. Few minor paint blemishes and imperfections on frame around windows. Purely cosmetic and only noticeable up close.
Function - 10 out of 10. Everything worked flawlessly.

The main one I compared it against was Leer. When I searched on reviews it seemed there were some complaints on ones coming from a specific plant/region. That's the main reason I went with ARE as I really didnt find many (if any) complaints.

Yes, they do have screen guards on some models. As far as I can tell, Leer doesn't make a cap for RAM. I do plan on crating though I think. It's a big area to leave them loose in.

Unless they stopped making them in the last 8 months. I have a Leer 100XL on mine with a 6'4" bed. It has the power lock that works with the truck power locks. I added some custom LED tape lighting as all of the cap manufacturers offer less then desirable lighting.

I've had both Snug Top and Leer. I think that the Snug Top was better. Neither one was very cheap.

Yep, they do. Maybe not the very best but pretty good. Good fit, look and function:

The quarter windows open outward and have screen guards.

Strange. I go to the leer.com site, click on what fits my truck, enter my zip code, and RAM is not in the list of available models. GMC, Toyota, Ford, Nissan, and Chevrolet. No RAM, no Dodge. If I click on Products, I do see that several are available for RAM.

It is the model year that takes RAM off the list. Search using 2015 and talk to a local dealer as they have the most up to date information on fitment. Leer may have missed it updating their website.
As far as I know, nothing with the bed, tailgate or power locks have changed with the 2016 model year from 2015.
