Whats your opinion on the best low dust brake pads I can get for my truck? Looking at Bosch Quietcast Ceramic right now along with coated rotors (live in NH and rust sucks). I like power stop but they call for a ridiculous break in procedure

I don’t remember the manufacturers name, but on my 2003 quad cab, I went with ceramics, and in the 5 years & 56,000 miles I owned it, never had a problem with brake dust, it was non-existent on the wheels

No Joke wagner oex, it is the rare pad that brakes better then oem in stopping power and gives zero dust. Perhaps on paper power stop metallic stop better, but it was such an improvement over oem in stopping alone I was grateful for the choice. Maybe 2 years now I have not had to wash the rims once, there simply is no dust.

The website says pepboys or O'Reilly for them, I don't have a pepboys near me and O'Reilly doesn't show them as available for my truck, just some off brand options.

Oh yeah, ceramic for sure. Definitely important for little to no brake dust

I have had awesome luck with Powerstop Evolution Brake pads. I bought their rotor/Pad kit for my truck and they have been well worth the money. I just ordered a set of the evolotion pads for my corvette to help with the brake dust on it also

The Extreme pads on the Z36 tow brake kit are low dust ... the oem ones on this truck were bad, but these pads man, I get almost no dust whatsoever! and they also stop on a dime lol ....

powerstop z36. Low dust, not too harsh of an initial bite, but they come on nicely with some heat, with no fade, even while towing.
I love my powerstop z36 kit ..... to me they stop smoothly, they have big time stopping power better than any other brake kits I have had on other trucks and even cars .... LOVE THEM !!!

I have power stop pads and drilled/slotted rotors on my Ram, my Beetle and husband's Lincoln. Got mine from Rockauto. Fantastic brakes, no dust, no fade. Their performance has saved my butt twice when I came within literal inches of being hit by random jackasses.
I have heard great things about Wagner oex as well.

I love these powerstop z36 in the rain, I read and saw videos that the drilled holes and slots help keep the rotors dry during the rain by channeling the water out similar to siping in tires ... the OEM brakes would groan in the rain, sounded like an old cargo vessel lol ..

I use and prefer Powerstop. They aren't cheapest, best is relative to each person.
Usually change rotors every second pad change.

Also prefer the drilled/slotted rotors, but not really needed.
My view, drilled/slotted are best for towing/off-roading. Not really needed for just normal driving.

Or if you have big wheels and tires like I do ... Each wheel is 40 lbs. and the tires 81 lbs. each ..

With air each wheel/tire weighs between 130-135 lbs. depending on how much air you put in them ...

Huge difference from stock wheel/tire setups where these would be overkill unless you are towing ...

I definitely feel power stop is the best, but their break in procedure is a little hard to manage where I'll be doing the brake job so that's my only reason not going with them. I have them on the front of it now and they're great.

Their coated rotors call for this break in procedure
"After installation, perform thirty decelerations from thirty miles per hour to five miles per hour. With the thirty seconds in between each deceleration for cooling. You should expect to smell some resin as the brakes get hot."

You defiantly have to plan accordingly where you do the brake job LOL. I live in the city so I have to make sure I do my brakes at my brothers in the country so I can hit the backroads for the break in procedure

I used ceramic pads on my 11 ram and never had to clean the wheels. I only towed with it on occasion but they did great and stopped better than the original factory pads
