At work they put some type of oil on the road an it leaves some spots on my wheels that almost look like rust that are super hard to get off. Any ideas? Reckon a clay bar would get it off?

Meguiar's cleaner wax paste and some elbow grease takes that rustic looking crap right out. Had the same issue with mine, brought them back to like new condition.

Throw them in the trash.. lol

I just use soap and water. Anything else smears on them.

I only clean chrome with carnauba wax... prefer Mequiar's.

However, if you are getting actual rust spots (which can happen to chrome in salty conditions), and polish won't take it off, then you can remove it by lightly rubbing with steel wool. But take it easy and don't rub too hard... just a light buff.

Wax? Yes. Steel wool on the chrome clads?.. Negatory.. I wouldn't want to take the chance at scratching them.. light buff or not.. just my $.02

Steel wool will not scratch chrome. Use the triple zero stuff and make sure you wear a mask as the small fibers go everywhere and are not good for lungs!

Don't throw them away, paint them. 4 months and I had rust spots on my chrome clad wheels after getting the truck. Immediately got annoyed as I didn't realize they were chrome clads. Plasti dip and clear spray paint and can't be happier 8 months later.

Chrome clads are junk and I don't feel like they stay nice that long.

I will say I really do like the way they look on the truck.
They remind me of the first gen SRT8 Jeep wheels.

I wish they made something like that in our bolt pattern.
