Hey guys,

Some yoyo felt it was a good idea to rub their side mirror along the length of my bed and rear door while I was parked on the side I the road. Doesn't look to have scratched the paint and I was able to rub a few spots out with just a damp towel. What's the best way/product to use to get this out? Maybe there's already a thread but I don't see it...

It's kinda hard to make out in the pic....

Always try to LEAST abrasive product first. You could try a good quality polish and see if it would polish out. If so, then you would have to re-wax or seal the area you polished. It would be easiest if you used a dual action buffer with the polish although you can do it by hand, it's just a lot more work.

Thanks for the info. I have some polish at home I'll try that and see what happens. Been meaning to scoop up a nice buffer. Guess now is as good a time as ever.

Please make sure you get a Random Orbit buffer.

Unless you have proper experience with a standard rotary unit, I promise you'll make your paint look worse!

Meguiars rubbing compound with a microfiber and gently work it out of there. If you never used a buffer and especially with black paint, it can turn into a nightmare quickly

The reason I say clay is because it's not really a scratch, only a transfer.
The clay should remove that plastic transfer from your paint.

Go at it with an Eraser Wheel. It'll take it all off.

Except an eraser wheel costs $50 if I remember correctly.
I use mine very sparingly. Lol

I second the Clay bar first! Then a good polish. I would imagine that will get the bulk of it off. If not, then try a high-quality compound, then back to polish, then good sealant
