Or you maybe thinking of the Goodyear eagle ls2 tires. Those things were bad. Firestone makes a good tire now. Bfg I have no idea. Micky Thompson off-road tires wear unevenly.

So I was on my way home tonight, and saw a buddy hunched over next to his son's Tacoma. I wheeled around to see if he needed a hand, to find them putting on a spare. The BFG Radial All Terrain had a big ol' flapper hanging off of it. He said the tires were about four years old and had plenty of tread left.

I would be interested in the previous history of how the tires were treated also.

Hello Guys,

I have had 2 sets of Ko's on 2 different trucks.

The 1st set on Nissan Titan 4x4 got 73,000 miles out of them, keep them properly inflated and rotated and balanced every 10K.

The second set on Ram 1500 and got 67,000 out of that set.

The thing I did not like was after about 45,000 they got a little louder road roar going down the interstate.

At the time with those trucks they were mostly road trucks with occasional off road pulling trailer with atvs or pulling 3800lb bow rider boat to and from river.

I have always used Michelins other than those 2 sets of KO's, the michelins ride better and are far quieter than KO'S

If you are only buying KO'S for street use I would not recommend them.

There are better tires, Michelin LTX M/S II are excellent tires and run those on both cars and trucks and they are rated for 70,000 miles.

I ran A set of Michelin LTX M/S II's E rated tires on my Ram 2500 Cummins.

The most import thing in selecting a tire is getting the correct load rating for the job at hand.

The main problem with all tire manufactures these days are they are NOT putting all the UV protector chemicals in new tires to protect them from the sun, and the side walls are drying out from the sun.

If you did not know it there are date codes on tires, make sure you are getting new recently Manufactured tires and not a set that has been setting in a warehouse somewhere for the last 5+ years

In the end its everybody preference that matters. I have run michelins before and got the worst experience out of then they rode like crap, slid on wet pavement and wore down quickly. Before i installed my ko2 i used to always run coopers but there quality lately is severly lacking. It took my tire guy alot of convincing to get me to go the the ko2 tire and i did some reasearch and apparently bf goodrich is owned my michelin and the tires are made in the michelin plant i suspect so i wilp keep my fingers crossed and do my regular tire maintenance and see what i get out of these ko2

But do the Michelins look cool? Lol. It seems to me, most people are buying bigger and/or more aggressive tire more for the look than actual performance.

I also liked the Michelins LTX AT2 on my first F150 vs the more aggressive looking Wranglers ATS on my second. Less noise and more grip in rain and snow. Probably had less traction in mud, but never put them to the test.

Mineral ram ,

Yes I do swear by Michelins based on number of vehicles owned and used Michelins on them.

But surely you must re read my post because there is a lot more info in there than just I prefer Michelins.

Yes this day and age it is hard to keep up with what companies have merged with whom.

When I buy a New fleet of vehicles which is every 2-3 years, I make dealers remove any brand tire that are not michelins as part of the deal for buying new vehicle and they must change all 5 tires not 4 and install Michelins!

When I was young I had a couple of bad problems with "GOOD FOR A YEAR" (goodyear) tires.

Also when I was younger I had 3 service vans, that the only tire those vans liked was uniroyal tiger paws because they were awd.

Now a days car Manufactures are some time selecting and designing vehicles around 1-2 tire manufactures available tires because they preform the best for that vehicle.

ON EDIT!!

Miner Ram if you turn up your radio enough you can drowned out all road NOISE!!

Just to clerify, i was not "thinking" of any other tire than the KO2. Im not even talking about the Ko. And im more concerned about them on heavier trucks. But all info is helpful to the thread

You have 3500 series so this applies to you.

The most import thing in selecting a tire is getting the correct load rating c, d,e for the job at hand.

The main problem with all tire manufactures these days are they are NOT putting all the UV protector chemicals in new tires to protect them from the sun, and the side walls are drying out from the sun.
