I'm planning on getting new bilstein shocks and struts installed on my 2018 ram crewcab 4x4. The main reason is to level the truck. Two questions:

-The shop says some owners replace the upper control arms when replacing shocks, but they redesigned for 2018 models so it wasn't needed. Any reason to go ahead and replace?

-Any reason to go ahead and replace the rear shocks with bilsteins at the same time? The truck has 30K miles and I don't know of any issues with the rear. Additional cost with labor is $250.

-It sounds like the 2.1 setting is the best setting. Any reason to go to 2.8?

Appreciate your feedback.

From what I've read. Most guys that get ucas have the level at 2.8 and only do it as a precaution. Its not needed though and definitely not needed at 2.1. That's what I have gathered, someone correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks for all the advice here. Ended up getting all 4 bilstein shocks/struts and set front at 2.1. It's slightly below level at 2.1 but will keep it good when stuff in the bed. Happy with the ride and how it turned out.
