i am about to order front and rear bilstein shocks for my 2015 1500 4x4. I already have a 2” leveling kit on factory suspension. It might be silly but can I buy a 1” spacer for the rear and the front keep the 2” spacer and set the ring to 2.1 and not have a messed up front end after an alignment?

Your cv and balljoint angkes are going to be cranked. Most likely you will be sitting nose high as well. If your rear was bone stock and you just did the bils @2.8 you would be a tad nose high without front spacer

Theres a thread everything bilstein here. You will see this question and the responses.
In a nutshell, do either 2.1 for a slight front rake. Less than an inch. No rear spacer.
Or go 2.8 and a 1-1.5” coil spacer in rear.
Toss the pucks in the can and forget about them.

Hell I swapped an upper control arm and changed toe in and camber with what was supposed to be a direct replacement so I am sure you are headed for an alignment if you set the Bills at 2.1 and didn't use a spacer on top of it , bad idea anyway.

With Bils at 2.1 it incresaes the length of the strut by compression preload. Achieving the leveling, but not changing the mounting point geometry. If you add the spacer in addition to the assemble bil @2.1 you are pushing the entire assembly down in effect lengthening the strut “assembly” by the thickness of the spacer. This forces your cv shafts and balljoints at an extreme angle.

2.8 and 1.5” rear spacers left me a 1” forward rake if that helps you decide what to go with.

Bils at 2.8 and 1.5” rear spacer left me with 1/2” of rake. I’m at 40k miles on this setup and no ball joint issues. If i were you I’d measure to see what rear spacer you need as every trucks height will vary

Did you need a front end alignment after going with that setup? I'm having the same thing put on tomorrow.

Yes you most definitely will need an alignment, once it’s leveled it will be pretty clear to you that it is needed. I always purchase the 3 year alignments so got one right away and then another checkup a month later, No adjustments were needed.
