The factory warranty ran up this month in my 08 2500, so I purchased extended warranty since I don't want to have to pay for repairs in the next four years that I have left paying for the truck. Before they would sell me the warranty, I had to have an 85 point inspection done on the truck. Found out when it was done that the bushings in my front shocks were all punched out. Not sure what the hell kind of shocks are in it now, they just say Explorer and are white, but since they are aftermarket, Dodge doesn't cover it under warranty. I have noticed that my truck rides really rough. I kind of just figured it was just from the leveling kit. But it's probably because the bushings are shot in the front shocks. So I ordered a set of Bilstein 5100 shocks, it would be amazing if the truck rides smoother when I get these in. Looking online, swapping out the shocks look to be a pretty easy job. Can't wait to get these in the mail

To be honest with you, anything provides a better ride than some warn/blown shocks. I'm on a budget, after having to do a bunch of front end work. FireStone told my my front shocks we're pretty bad and my back shocks we're completely blown and need to be done ASAP. I went with Monroe's $25.00 shocks from Advance and can't tell you how much of a difference it made over the worn out blown shocks. I've read nothing but good about the Bilstein 5100's. That was honestly my first choice, but couldn't afford them after replacing the front end parts. But I can tell you the $25.00 shocks made a big difference in ride quality, especially in the bumpy parking lot with speed bumps over the blown ones, so I'm sure you will experience the same thing as long as the problem isn't with the body lift and shocks. It seems like I read somewhere that using the same size shocks as factory and putting a bod lift in will limit the travel. However, I believe the 5100's are adjustable and can be raised a few inches to match your body lift.

Glad to hear that, hopefully these bilsteins show up soon cause I'm excited to see the difference! Do you mean a leveling kit? Cause a body lift shouldn't affect suspension as you are just raising the body up off the frame

Let us know how it rides after you put them in. I just got an '08 ram this past week and it rides really rough up front so I'm having the same issue as you. I was thinking of getting the Bilsteins since I've heard lots of good things about them. Anythings got to be better than how it rides now.

Alright will do, they've been at Purolator in my city since Thursday but they keep saying the delivery to my house was delayed due to weather, but the weather hasn't even been that bad lol so hopefully I get them next week, who knows with Christmas next week...

So I got these installed today and took the truck for a quick test drive and man what a difference... My old shocks were completely shot. When I compressed them I had to pull on them to get them to return lol. I am very pleased with the new shocks, but while I was installing them I noticed I have a bent stabilizer link... What would be the cause of this?
