I couldn't help myself today.....
2 pairs Alpine Type R 6x9's sonixelectronics $109x2

1 pair JL Audio TR350 CXI 3.5 coax speakers $63.95
1 Alpine SWS-10 dual 2ohm sub $78.95

The plan is to build my own box for the 10 and get some cheap sound deading for the doors and possibly the back of the cab. I'm going to run both the front and dash speakers in parallel to drop it down to 2ohms in the front, but leave the rears at 4. Sub will be at 4 as well, mostly just to keep the amp from going to crazy although it probably could handle the 2ohms for the sub too, but I was advised to just run it at 4 ohms.

Now can someone tell me how to get to the back of the radio? Does the 3.0 system have a rca?

LOC such asAudioControl LC2i is what you'll need or something similar.

Thanks!!!! Didn't think about it and was really hoping to have RCA outs on the head unit. I guess they don't??? Hell it might be easier to use one of those anyways.

Sounds like a great improvement. I don't think I would run the fronts in parallel. I would run the 3.5s off OE deck power. How would you set the crossover running 6x9s and 3.5s off the same channels? I wouldn't recommend that. Maybe you could put bassblockers on the 3.5s? I still wouldn't power them. They wouldn't be able to handle the power the 6x9s do, and they may get harsh.

That's not a bad idea at all. Less wires to run too. That would allow for more power to the front 6x9's too. I'm pretty sure the amp has variable crossover points, so I should be able to fine tune those 6x9's in the front and rear pretty good. I sort of regret not ordering a dual 4ohm 10" speaker so I could run 350watts to it, but 250 I'm sure will be good.

Now if I could just get a definitive answer on which speaker to tap for the LOC. Front or Rear

That sounds great! Going to need some for sure, even the factory 6x9's with all of their crossovering make the back door panels rattle.

First car I bought myself had deadener in the trunk and it actually sounded amazing. Everything I owned after that wish I would've taken the time put it in.
