I pulled up to the house to pick my son up and when I turned the truck off saw a message that there was a software update available. It said the ignition had to be off and the vehicle in park to install, so I hit install update and got out of the truck, thinking it could install while I ran inside to get my son. As I opened the door I realized my mistake as I saw the RAM logo that usually pops up when I get out and the screen turns off. Several minutes later I got back in and the screen was still black. I waited to see if anything would change for about 30 seconds, then I started the truck. Still no screen, and the display near my speedometer is flashing “115v Cargo Power Outlet On”. The USB port is charging but CarPlay doesn’t isn’t working, screen won’t turn on, no radio…I’m guessing exiting the vehicle interrupted the update and now it’s in a funky state?

Is there a trick to reinitializing the radio unit or do I need to take this thing to the dealership?

False alarm. I’m just impatient. Parked with it off while I ate lunch and now it’s working fine

I can tell you when mine did it it took 1 hr and 7 min. I sat and watched it the entire time & captured pics of the stages with my phone camera.

I hear ya. I'm rural and the only option I have is satellite. I get 5 - 7 Mbps on a fast day...with a tailwind...downhill.

The days of whacking a TV to jiggle it back to working may be over, but in the not too distant past I did have to thump the starter on an outboard with a hammer to get it working again.

Was wondering if anyone else thinks it strange that Uconnect support refuses to use email to address these issues? Guess it would prove that they have no clue as to what they are doing. They are now in the habit of putting you on hold for 15 minutes while they "review your case number" and then they disconnect the phone call and want you to answer survey questions. This happened 3 times today with 3 different "support specialists". I feel a class action is very close now... 2022 Ram 1500

I thought of Hughes net, BUT they will only do if they PUT dish on Roof. My dish for Direc TV is in front of house,. I am not gonna let any clown get up on roof and goof off, on my now 4 1/2 year old roof, and I end up with a leak,. Oh no, them metal roofs expensive.

I hear you there. I had an Amish guy and menonites install metal about 5 years ago. Cost a small fortune. No contractor is stepping foot on mine either!

is Starlink available in your area? I have it and it is way way better than Hugesnet or Viasat. You do have to pay $600 for the equipment upfront but no contract. Month to month for $120.

During peak times I get 25 mbps and off peak upwards of 150 mbps. Ping times are significantly less than others making the browser very responsive.

You can get Starlink RV anywhere without waiting. It costs a bit more at $150 month. Once your number is up on the waitlist, you can reuse the equipment for the home version. I sent a ticket to Starlink support when my turn on the waitlist came up. They reassigned the equipment to the home account and I was refunded my $99 deposit for the home version.

You can either take the RV version on the road or pause the subscription if you travel.

Sounds good to me, lol. Just not something I have pursued much. Right now, big thing they Pushing here is T Mobile 5G for $50 a month. But alas, I do not live in town and that "option" is not available.
