Im looking to black out my truck. I have a 08 ram 1500 Larmie. It has the chrome piece on the front bumper. Do they make a paintable piece to cover it, or is there a way to remove and paint it? Unless I can get a SRT bumper for a ggod price, I hate to spend alot just for the small chrome piece. Also the hoods on the 2011 trucks with the two scoops looks great! any one make those for the 08's yet?

its sort of smooth, but not smooth like paint. its a rubber type feel. Should be able to just get a sport cover to replace yours.

Also, there has been a thread about the Challenger hoods for the 02-08 rams, and I believe the final decision was that while there is one available, it's possible to have quite a lot of fitment issues for the cost.

^We try, just make sure you have room on a credit card because modding the truck gets addictive quick.

Ok I got several cans of the plastidip. If I am using it on metal or Plastic, do I need to sand or prime first, or just clean it real good? Will this stuff hold up in my rims? I have the 20's, they look chrome but I don't think they are, a magnet won't gram em and the sound like plastic when I tap them.

read the can but i almost certian you just clean it really good with degreaser. as for the chrome 20s its just a chrome coated plastic cover.

So if its chrome plated plastic, then i should be able to sand, prime, and spray color match paint on them right? It dont evn matter if i mess them up cause I have a set of Eagle Alloy 20's sitting in the garage :)

if you go with painting the chrome, spend the money to have it sand blasted first.

@ Reddot Sandblast the plastic chrome coated wheels first? Or were you talking about the real Chrome 20's?

well I was talking more about bumper and stuff. But I think any plastic chrome would be okay with some heavy sanding and adhesion promoter.
