Blew my driveshaft in half

Not sure if this goes here if it does not please direct it and me to the proper place:

With that said I have a 14 ram rt with 91 diablo tune, was racing a Ford Focus on Saturday and at 131 mph my driveshaft blew all over the highway.

Why would the driveshaft come apart and is their a performance driveshaft I can get to prevent this ?

Short beds have a problem with that. I forget whose making them but yes there are aftermarket drive shafts

DDS and there north of $1000. I think if you search or goggle that problem you'll see you have lot of company.

Their is a guy on eBay that makes aluminum driveshafts and uses 1/8” thick outer wall all one piece 600 he wants thought about trying him but not sure

Fck no he was just starting to pull away and I pushed that ******** peddle down and boom ******* thing blew up

I am so pissed I might trade my rt for a viper truck already looking and found one local if I cannot get past 130 mph this truck needs to go

part of the reason why the factory speed limits vehicles is the drive shaft is not balanced for much more than 3000-3500 rpms. I'm going to guess the Diablo tune did away with the speed limiting.

I’m dying right now. Some peeps go crazy when people tow over max capacities of their truck and act like we will die. Then you’re out there on a highway at 135mph with parts flying off truck. I see the humor in this. Even if you don’t lol

A driveshaft loop may not stop your driveshaft from blowing up, but it may stop some of the parts from scattering all over hell's half acre. This problem has been well known for over a year and I bet there isn't over a half a dozen guys that have taken the time to install a driveshaft loop. Hell we had to have them in the 60's when I was racing---they ain't brand new technology. When I saw Matt blow his driveshaft up a couple of years ago it scared the crap out of me. Sermon over!

V6 Mustangs have a bad habit of gernading their cheap, sheet metal drive shafts also. When I ordered my Mustang, I also ordered an alum ds from American Muscle. Had the alum shaft put on immediately.

Quit being a whiner, get an Alum ds, and hunt down that Focus.

For the record, I had my truck to 124 on an on ramp a few weeks ago. It didn't take very damn long, either! I'm glad I didn't go any faster!

I hit 120 and then 125 few months ago, felt nothing, 131 ended her lol
