Long story short. Last Thursday I hit a palm tree at the end of my driveway with my front fender. I broke the headlight mounts, enter the chrome bumper, and crushed the right front fender above the headlight. After talking with one body shop, they wanted to replace the fender. But another one said that the fender could be repaired.
In the end, I decided to do the bodywork myself.

The next step is to replace the headlight assembly and get the fender repainted. I just haven't decided yet if I want to pay to have it done, or do it myself.

Silver is a difficult color to get a complete match. If you decide to do it yourself (no reason not to) take the truck to a good paint supply shop and let them mix the color match based on your truck's color. Doing the complete fender is the way to minimize differences.

Thanks, guys. I have a few low spots in the bondo that I plan to fill in and re-prime it. I'm also going to go to a local paint shop that only does automotive paint to have it color matched.

Definitely pull the match from the hood. As the hood (and fenders) will be the most sun beaten, the paint will be new but in the same aged color as the rest of the truck.
