If your truck did not come with running boards, you may also need these they secure in the fender, 1a010674bc58ec93397b8db3ecb9908f.jpg

if you go that route, check at a lowes or HD first. probably cheaper than a dealer and they have multiple sizes.

can't remember what size the bolts were. get out your ruler for sure. i think they were metric size or maybe 1/4 inch.

yes, my westons have that strip of metal with either or bolt or a nut was used. mine actually had a bolt on one end of the strip, and nut on the other, the bolt end would go on the top of the "triangle" pattern and the other end had the nut on it. then the 3rd hole used what is called a nutsert that sets inside that hole and compresses and spreads as you tighten a bolt into it. what you end up doing with that strip is holding the bolt end and threading it through the top hole then carefully placing the mount on to it (so it can't fall back inside the rocker) than hand snug a nut onto that. then put a bolts into the other 2 mounting points.

unfortunately the speed nut posted above may be too big to slip into the holes that the Ram has. the only ones that "may" have been bigger enough were the top holes. i do recall they had a bigger bolt than the bottom 2.

finally, make sure you have a good look before you start at the holes in your rockers. some trucks for some reason have threads built already into the 2 bottom holes if you are lucky. then you don't need the nutserts. some just have a hexagonal hole.

i think the biggest trick you'll have with those running boards with no hardware is to find nutserts. i've never seen a nutsert in a canadian hardware store. if you can get to the US you might have better luck.
