I would do a rear mount turbo right where the muffler connects at the ypipe. Something small like a 76 trim would max out around 700-800whp. The exhaust is perfect stock and will help spool it better honestly. All you need to do is run an external oil pump and charge tubing to the TB. A cheap option is the eBay GT45 and they are very reliable and under $200. Best part is it looks stock under the hood!
The problem is tuning... the stock stuff costs an arm and a leg to tune especially my new 18 Laramie.
Coming from turbo and supercharged engines... turbos are the better option bc they don’t really cost power to make power. I ran a torqustorm (centri) on my 5.3LS for a whopping $3000 brand new (check them out) it was a fun alittle startup and made about 11psi on my 5.3 with porter heads and a custom cam, made over 12psi on the stock motor. They make brackets for the hemi as well and is high quality USA made stuff. But it was eating 50hp to make full boost and putting stress on the crank snout. Now the engine is turbo’d. I also designed a rear mounted turbo on my Suzuki 600 gsx katana and that thing was stupid quick.
Super chargers eat power to make power, they put stress on the crank and they are loud on the street. Turbos make alittle more heat when boosting but are generally quieter and don’t eat power to make power.
