ok so my truck started off stock
added a 6" lift
and some 1.5" spacers on the stock 20x8 big horn wheels

fast forward a few weeks later and i put a set of flares on the truck

i like the flares.......but what i want is for the tires to sit a little more flush again. i like the aggressive look a lot more than the look when tires are kind of "tucked" into the wheel wells.

im thinking some 2.25" BORA spacers would be perfect. and im not afraid of spacers (i do have a set on the truck already) but just because of the unfounded horror stories people post of cheap spacers causing balancing issues or even wheels flying off trucks.....i want to be sure that there's not some sort of limit to how much spacer should be used safely?

i.e. is a 3" spacer any more detrimental to the normal wear and tear of a truck than say a 1" spacer?

Thanks in advance to this website for being such a source of info and helping me get my truck done right!

A spacer adds no different load on the bearing than a high offset wheel. Thats not necessarily a good thing, but still the way it works is the same

NEVERENDING!!

but im used to it....i come from the world of drag racing where you can also put some $ into a car. I knew what i was getting myself into when i ordered the lift.

even funnier.....i bought this truck and was happy with being leveled on bilstein 5100s. but the truck just didnt ride right.....maybe it was a poor quality alignment, im not sure

but i go to a local shop and ask whats up and long story short i left the first day wanting to just go small. 4" lift and maybe even keep the stock tires for a little bit. So just a 4" lift and whatever spacer needed to clear the knuckles and i thought id be happy

next day i started thinking why not just go with a 6" lift so i dont regret it down the road and ill keep the bilsteins low.....but im gonna need a minimum of 35" tires now or its going to look like a rollerskate on the stock wheels.

now i sit here today wanting to max the bilsteins out and put 37s with a 3" bodylift lol

no im just kidding

but i do want the wheels to sit out a bit more now that the flares are on....and im beginning to think 2.25 or 2.5" spacers would do the trick for me but i want to hear it from others that it wont mess the truck up with a 2.5" spacer anymore than a 1.5" spacer or anymore than aftermarket wheels with a more aggressive offset...
