im going to have to do some modding on them to make them fit i think.

also anyone ever do an EGR delete on these 5.7l's? would it be worth deleting? ive never really seen an advantage to having egr and there is a big ugly pipe that gets in the way.

im trying to spruce up my engine bay .. i just painted the hemi hat and air filter boxlid for now. when i get the coil covers in i will be going to a cai hopefully.

Check out weedahoe gallery as he has the coil covers on his 5.7 manifold. Its your truck but i would personally remove the 6.1L insignia unless you have a 6.1, otherwise you will get some "constructive criticism" which is what resulted in weeds thread.

Found a pic of his setup. It's prob quite a bit old as i am sure he is riding with his custom CAI now.

I have the EGR delete kit from shophemi.com but check with Duane to see if he has one first.
Link from where i got mine. Like you i am in the process of giving the bay a nice make over but with my setup i had no choice but to remove the EGR

5.7L HEMI EGR Block Off Plate Kit Billet Technology - shopHEMI.com

You will get EGR codes P0403 & P0406 so you will either have to live with the MIL light or have the sensors turned off via custom tune.

These are my coil covers that are ready to be put in.

those look good!
I am planning on shaving the 6.1 off and maybe finding something to put over that spot. Would the dealer be able to cancel out the mil light with the their scan tool? I think egr is worthless

Do you have pictures of your engine bay somewhere? I can spend hours just checking out other members engine bay galleries. Love it and it helps with inspiration on doing mine.

Just remembered. You may need to upgrade to 6.1 valve covers so the rubber sockets fit on the valve covers, then the ball at top of the rubber sockets fits securely into the coil cover sockets. It may fit with 5.7 valve covers and anything is possible but most conversions i have seen was with 6.1 valve covers - Specifically the 6.1 coil ignition conversion setup.

Good point I think your right Daniel, all of them I have seen has been done after the 6.1 ignition and vlave cover setup has been done. But that being said didnt Dodge change the valve covers in 06 to a different style then the 03-05 covers? Ya have me thinking now.

I guess it will only take a few moments to check his valve covers to see if it has the mounting points and if they are in the same position as the coil covers mounting sockets

I guess I'll find out when all the parts get here. Theyre on back order and had to be shipped from a different warehouse or something. Should be next week. ( I frakkin hope!)
If it doesn't work I'm sure I can rig something up!

Go the Norm Abrams route and just uses some Epoxy.
