Hey everyone, looking for some tips on breaking the caliper bolts free on my '14 ram 2500 6.4l 4x4. I had wheel off the other day and could not break the driver side caliper bolt free. Tried penetrating oil and nothing. There's not allot of room in wheel for breaker bar so that's out, and there's a wire and plug near the top caliper bolt so using a torch may not be a good idea.
I was thinking maybe a 15/16th wrench that I could hit with mallet, but when I tried that using a socket and ratchet it still didn't budge.?
This is my first time doing brake pads on this truck so maybe I'm missing the obvious?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Also, are duralast brake pads any good?

I would try and get the wire out of the way, then use a little bit of carefully applied heat. I have an Oxy/Acet torch setup, and I use a very small tip for this kind of work. It puts focused heat directly onto a very small area, without saturating surrounding material. Heat should be directed to the area around the bolt threads, not onto the bolt itself. I've been using this same torch for over 40 years, and it has helped me through many, many issues just like this. If you break the bolt.... well, you obviously know how much extra work that creates.

Duralast pads are OK, I have used their 'best' on my Chevy pickup, with good results.

What bolt is stuck, the caliper slide one or hte caliper bracket one?

On a 1500 the caliper bracket bolt is 22mm if I remember right (I.E. it is probably metric)

Can you turn the wheel to give you room for a breaker bar? Would also apply penetrating oil, let it sit, apply more…maybe a little heat from a propane torch just to get the oil hot so it gets into the threads.
