I did a brake job to my truck a few weeks ago and I noticed on occasion when heavy braking the drivers side would grind. Today I got the time to check it out and below picture shows what I found. Is this something a caliper repair kit can fix or do I need a whole new caliper? Thanks

RockAuto lists a replacement piston for the caliper and its not really that expensive, but I would question if its worth the effort of tearing down just to replace the piston. Figure you might as well rebuild the caliper at that point. And at THAT point it might be worth just getting a reman caliper and turning yours in as a core.

I bit the bullet and just bought a new one.
