Brake light leak

Has anyone had a problem with ram 1500 brake light leak???::

I ended up replacing the gasket on my third brake light when it started to leak. They use a foam one from the factory (not sure if they changed that since I got my truck), and it fails after a while. Get some of the foam door sealing gasket from your local hardware store and use that. I did the same thing and this is what I sued:

I did. My 3rd brake light started leaking. Took it to the dealership and they replaced the entire assembly, no questions asked. The service manager told me that it is a common problem with our trucks.

i had a thrid brake light leak and the dealer just too ksome rtv and gooked it on there and screwed the light back in, havent had an issue since.... now i cant get my light off.

^Bingo.
Use a closed cell foam tape to form a 3-sided gasket along the sides and top, with another strip along the bottom and you'll be good to go (and be able to get it off again to change bulbs if need be)
I can't believe a dealer used RTV to seal it to the truck?@!
