Hey Guys, Im looking at doing a brake swap on my 97 SS/T. Has anyone done this swap and if so...did you do it with a conversion kit or was it an axle swap? If it was an axle swap, what year/vehicle was used as a doner vehicle. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

That is an interesting question. I have seen it done with the conversion kits. But I do believe that a 2002 to 2005 chrysler 9.25 ram 1500 rear would be swappable. But I'm sure someone else will be able to confirm.

Are you wanting to put discs on the back? I know that 2001.5 1500s and up had rear disks either as an option or standard (2002 up).
If you can adapt 2000 and up front knuckles to your '97, you could run the 2 piston calipers. I haven't looked online, but if the ball joints are the same then you sould be able to. Other wise you would have to mesure the a-arms to see if you could changeover.

Sorry...my bad. Yeah, Im wanting to convert the rear to discs. Im in the process of doing a 4-link conversion with coil overs and think this would just be the icing on the cake! Thanks guys.
