Breather elbow snapped, fine to replace with universal metal breather with internal filter?

Like the title says, I somehow managed to break the breather elbow (the one on the passenger side, NOT the PCV valve). I have a completely unused breather that would fit perfectly, one of those metal ones with the paper filter inside. Would that be a suitable replacement either short term or long term since I don't have a new plastic elbow readily available?

Thanks in advance!

That looks exactly the same as the one I got on my carbureted 318. I see no reason why you would have a problem with it long term, probably better honestly. If it filters air and fits then you're good
