Buffering radio

In my 2018 Ram 1500 Sport my radio is constantly buffering listening to HD channels. It didn’t do this before but has been doing it the past 2-3 weeks. The radio says buffering and then will find the channel. Anyone else having this problem? Just curious if this was a part of the horrible radio update a couple of months ago.

Its 100% based on reception to that channel. I work in city and live 22 miles north of said city. I can listen to all the HD channels close to work, but by time I get home i usually lose most of them. I can tell you when I changed to LED headlights I lost HD almost completely unless I was at work.

New HD stations are buffering, where existing ones are still okay. Im in Atlanta.

Ummmm.....

Did something confuse you? Real simple it’s like YouTube using the internet, when you have strong internet it doesn’t buffer and plays, when you have little or no signal it buffer and sometimes never plays. HD carries more data so if anything changes it can’t keep up. Nearly anything can affect it, perhaps a new radio antenna went up local causing issues to bad weather

My head unit has the same issue with HD channels in this area. I think HD radio is a mistake. Atmospherics, structures, hills & trees all mess with the signal pretty badly. I removed all the HD channels from my favorites.

Yah, confused how upgrading to LED’s changed your radio reception (unless I’m reading that wrong?)

Led headlights cause a ton of RF interference, so the reception is affected, so long way around HD can’t buffer enough to start. Its like having a bad WiFi connection, your connected but can’t get YouTube to play hd
