building a strong 5.9

I have a 2001 5.9 gas 4:10 gears with 70,000 miles. I want to add upgrades to the motor to be able to tow more. What can I do to beef up my motor. Already have programmer, cold air intake, and throttle body spacer. And I am also on a budget. I'd like to keep this truck and can't justify a diesel. Ideas greatly appreciated

Put a good cam in it, and maybe remove the heads to do a mild gasket match job. The cam alone will get good hp and tq numbers, and a the port job will help it breathe better.

Also get a double roller timing setup and I think you'll be fine.
