So my truck was hit a while back and I just now got it in a shop to be repaired, I get it back today and it looks great at first.

I get home and take this picture to post a before and after picture for the forum and.......

Anybody notice anything???

It looks to me that the sides of the plastic cover does not line up with the steel bumper.

Nothing? I was hoping to be able to go back to the shop tomorrow and have something to show them, to help explain why I thinks it's wrong. When I called them they pretty much said that everything is brand new so it has to be rite.

Just because it's all new doesn't mean it's put back together correctly.

It does look off.

I agree, that's why I was looking for some pictures so I have something to show them.

I am going to get a hold of my insurance company tomorrow and let them know I want a second opinion from the dodge dealership. I am assuming since it is directly related to an open claim that they will pay any fees associated it it.

Have you happen to crawl under there to see if anything looks off?

Maybe something simple to fix vice dealing with the shop again.

I have not got under it as of yet, honestly even if it is a simple fix I don't think I should have to, they were paid to do a job and I know it may sound dumb but they should be held accountable for there work.

When I dropped the truck off I was told "we will use the cheapest aftermarket parts we can find and if the fit isn't rite or there is a problem with the part then we will use oem."

If that was their reply to a customer that just had work done, then that's a pretty ****** shop. I've had similar issues/questions to body shop work I had done and they always said bring it in so they can look at it. Never "it has to be right".

She didn't literally say "it has to be rite" but she did keep insisting that everything was new and that there was no adjustment for the bumper or cover. She did tell me that if I want to I can come back tomorrow and she would look over it with me. And then again said "but all the parts are new and held on by non adjustable brackets.

Agree.

I just have this thing about taking something back to a shop to fix something that they've already messed up, that they were supposed to be fixing in the first place.

If that makes sense.

Especially, if it's something I could fix quickly or easily. Just my .02

That looks like mine after it got backed into. If they used aftermarket parts that may be the problem. I've seen alot of that stuff bent and or tweeted in shipping. Oem is high but must the time it's best

Thanks yall, I have been talking to my insurance company they talked to the body shop and asked that I take it back.... the plugged in my fog lights but still insist that's how it's supposed to be. My insurance company is sending out there own adjuster to take a look, without any pictures of my own prior to the accident I feel that I have nothing to fight with. Could yall please post up pictures of yall trucks so I have something to show them???

Can't you just pull a stock photo off the Internet to show and compare it too?

Here's a pic of mine. The cover on top of the steel bumper has a consistent gap all along just big enough to get the tip of my little finger in between the pieces.

I know the bumper's slightly different, but I would think the tolerances should be same either way.

Thank you, I hope it works. I have taken a picture of a family friends vehicle and we'll as a random truck in a parking lot, I hope with 3 examples to show then I can get this issue resolved.

I think the key is making it as symetrical as possible, which yours is not.
