Bumper Compatibility

Looking to dress up my 2014 a bit with some chrome. Are bumpers all the same from 09-18? Specifically, will a rear bumper from a 2015 2500 bolt on to my 2014 1500?

Anybody? I don't want to drive an hour to buy something that won't work.

I didn't comment origionally as I don't know one way or the other as a matter of fact, that said I would error on the side of "no". I don't think the one year difference is the issue, as much as I would be concerned about different mounting points to the frame for the 1500 vs 2500.

I could be totally wrong on that but I personally wouldn't drive an hour to find out.

i got a rear bumper from my '17 2500 sitting outside, the part number is 6813905AC, which ONLY comes back as a 2500 bumper

now, here is what you "need" to know
its held on by 4 bolts, these go in 2 by 2, the holes are 3 inches top to bottom and just shy of 49 inches apart

let me know if you want to see some pictures, or if you want to drive over here and give me $100 for it

13-18 and 19-24 Classic 1500 front bumpers are the same (except 1500 warlock/ rebel variants)

I believe, 13-18/classic rear bumpers are the same.

2500/3500 front bumpers are definitely different, as are 09-12 trucks (similar to 2500's). Not sure about 2500/3500 rear bumpers.

It should bolt up but the electrical connection for the trailer wiring is on the opposite side of the license plate. Owner of an EcoDiesel had a 2500 bumper installed on his truck when it was fixed after an accident. He realized it when his trailer lights weren't working, he was able to move the truck wiring enough to fix the problem.

Depending on year you need adapters to put a 2500 bumper on a 1500. I'll find you a link. They are not cheap

Thanks a lot! That's what I needed to know. Looked at pic of bumper I want to buy and yep, trailer hookup on wrong side. Guess I need to get under there and see if have enough play to move it.

Where are you located? I have a 4th gen (1500 Laramie) chrome rear bumper sitting in my garage
