Brothers, I'm here again ,with my crappy English. To reach 120,000 kilometers, the fluid of bw44-44 had to be replaced. But it is not possible to buy Mopar fluid suitable for 2016+bw44-44 .I heard that the redline mt-lv is suitable for it, but I can't buy it either. It is too new and has not been imported by distributors yet.I can only buy Amsoil mv atf, it claims to be compatible with any bw44-44, but it has a high viscosity compared to the redline. Is it really reliable? Because of the inconvenience of local maintenance, I only dare to use certified products.
I heard that amsoil oil has a relatively long cycle, no other characteristics, and very general performance.I also hesitated between amsoil and the red line.
Does amsoil mvatf really apply to bw44-44?Is there any discomfort compared to the red line mv-lv?And Differential fluid, is redline gear oil more comfortable than amsoil?I have a non-slip differential, do I need mopar additives for both oils?
Sorry, I have a lot of questions. Because I can't communicate with the repair shop at all, they don't understand it very well. There are too few vehicles. Except for easily damaged parts, it takes months to order other parts.

I do believe it will work, we have had one guy run it in his transfer case, let's call him to verify... If the amsoil is available to you, just run that. I just want to verify it is the correct fluid for you if amsoil has a few choices. Lets call Corey, he would know.

For your application I would definitely go with the Amsoil MVATF. It will work well in the 44-44 of any year.

I just bought Mopar fluid for my 2018 BW44-44 earlier this year, 68049954ac. Why not just do that?

Consider the effort you place in finding another fluid, the questions of it's effects and so on. Is that worth what you may save on a couple quarts every few years?

Okay, I will use mvatf. In the differential, will the redline be better than the AMSOIL? The local distributor has red line gear oil.
Brother, thank you for your answer.

I will try Amso mvatf, my car has been around for 5 years, I like it very much, I just don’t want it to malfunction. There are small displacement cars all around, and I like the power of hemi. The repair shop here does not even know that the differential needs to be added with anti-rotation additives. Thank you buddy.

Brother, I searched all the online shopping platforms in China, but I didn't find 68049954ac. If I could buy it, I would definitely not be so troubled. Maybe Google Translate makes my language difficult to understand. No way, I only know a little bit of common English words.sorry,haha.

I think both are equal, but the edge goes to amsoil because of their package, you do not need a pump like you do for redline. go amsoil all the way for transfer case and diffs.

All modern gear fluids have additive, you will NOT need additional additive, just that amsoil gear fluid.

The rear diff needs 75w140
The front diff needs 75w90 or close, like 75w85 whatever.

If by chance you get shudder after the fluid swap, you can buy the additive later, but as long as I have been here I have not heard once a ram needing additive with general use gear fluids. Maybe 20 years ago it was hit and miss whether your fluid had the additive or not, but now you have to special order gear fluid without the additive. Now, you will see companies like redline have both options, but just make sure you order the correct fluid. If by chance you get shudder or gear shimmy after new fluid, then just get the additive and add one ounce at a time till it goes away, no big deal. After new fluid, just take it easy and see what you got, 99% of the time no issue. You do not want to add extra additive, that in it's self can cause an issue, too slippery is not good. So with after market high quality fluids, you do not want additive in there at the time of change, just when and if it needs it and then a little at a time.

Well, I decided to order AMSOIL's mvatf and 75w90 75w140 gear oil. The oil is still the red line of 5w20. I was still considering redline's c+ five minutes ago, but there is no certification, so I should choose Ansuo. My current time is one o'clock in the morning, and I have to rest. I look forward to the next exchange. Thank you very much.

My 2021 Classic owners manual states to use 75W-90 in the rear diff, @Burla which brand/viscosity do you recommend?
I know previous model years have a higher viscosity rating in the owners manual.
Also would you definitely say no to mopar gear oil with the separate additive for LS?

My truck has 3.92 gears and equipped with LS

For visc, use what the book says.

Gear oils all have the additive, the industry has decided that even in diffs that don't need the additive, the additive does no harm. Now, the exception is older gear boxes, but certainly no 4 gen would fall into this category. Now, I don't really know about Mopar gear oils, I can tell you every otc oil is going to have the additive, and most boutiques as well, only the top boutiques even have an option for no additive, literally every otc oil I've seen such as m1 and valvoline only have "all" purpose or general use gear fluids and they all have the additive already in the mix. Some of the paper out there has Mopar in the bottom three of gear fluids next to RP and Lucas.

As for brand, I like amsoil gear bags, no pump needed, or any of the popular oils here for gears m1, valvoline or redline. I personally use redline, but really any of those would be fine. Unless you have a diff temp gauge and a reason to use it, then you can use the stuff you see on the shelf and be happy it is a good choice. Amsoil and redline give you more protection if the diff over heats, and also give an extended interval.

If by chance somehow you get an oil that didnt have ls additive and the rear end chattered, it wouldnt be a big deal, you just get some additive and put it in. Most places even tell you do not just add ls additive unless and until you get shudder/chatter. If you get redline for example, you get this one, you do NOT get the one that says NS in the title, and you can see the oem recommendations of either, the one with the NS in the title has very few and old specs, this one I posted is a general use gear oil just like anything you will grab off the walmart shelf.

First of all thank you for your detailed and very informative reply, I appreciate it greatly!!
Ill definitely look into Red Line's oil when its time for the fluid to change, seems to be a superior product and worth the extra few bucks to protect your long term investment.
thanks again man, your very helpful!

You can read the study pdf. Mind you they set the values to make amsoil look the best, which i don't have a problem with, what would you expect them to do? They specifically geared the test to make redline fall in the middle, because they know who their competition is. You can see their pin and vee block test, redline tested so high they have no scale for it, that is what happens with esters and hints that redline really does use what they say, it shows up in testing. having said all that, I still like amsoil bags as a top choice. I would however personally avoid the bottom 3 in the test like I would avoid someone with the plague, not just this test but diffs that have failed in some of the 4x4 forums I have been on for decades. Some of those you can even mention in the forum, I wont bother saying which ones, but they are in the 3 bottom in this test. use any of those at your own risk.

It is likely Mopar gear fluid today is different then the one tested and their oil contracts have changed suppliers, but I have no info either way and finding out tech sheets on Mopar is notoriously hard. Mopar believes shut up and use what we say we know better, we are the manu and you don't need any other info. personally, that just doesnt work for me, but many people swear by mopar products, to each their own there is room for everyone.

Mopar and Royal Purple did not do well on most tests from what i see in the document you posted, very poor results indeed.. Changes the whole perspective
