I went with OEM for reliability, and ease of install. Mopar kit comes with a nice template and everything you need. When I was researching the same i looked like the after market brands had a high fail rate. Not something I wanted to be changing bulbs in all the time. Installed over a year ago and zero issues so far. Here's a link with a bunch of info https://www.ramforum.com/threads/cab-lights.107274/

I have OEM's. The only aftermarket ones I have seen that come near the quality is Recon.

My truck (2018 Laramie Longhorn) came with the lights, I would have been happier without them.

Buy the OEM kit for the wiring, template and light kit etc. then if you want to switch to smoked you just buy the lense but use the OEM base so it seals better.

Do the oem complete kit so it won’t look like ********.i see a lot of aftermarket ones around here and they look like ****. And the smoked ones would look good too.
I’ve thought about getting a set of smoked for my truck also the mirror lights too. If it weren’t so difficult I’d make the mirror signals into constant power like the cab lights.

When your ready to do the cab lights let me know and I’ll come help you.

When you install the oem lights, don’t over torque the two screws that hold the lenses tight, the lenses will start cracking over time. I just replaced two of mine that cracked at the screw holes and water leaked into the lenses. None got into the truck.

Also, the screws have little clear rubber washers, they are easy to overlook, make sure they stay on or the lights will leak.

I agree with most, go with the OEM kit. The "clear" lens really blends in well with the silver. If you check in some other post on cab lights, you can see the picture of my silver truck with OEM cab lights. Good luck with your decision.

Question for you guys that have the cab lights wired up to the clearance light fuse slot in the fuse box. When you unlock your truck with the remote does the cab lights come on along with the headlights/taillights???

I have HID's and didn't want the headlights coming on off with the unlock/lock so I unchecked the option on my radio, however when I remote start they come on with the lights. The power wire on the cab light harness is long enough to go all the way to the fusebox, I think I had to cut off about a foot or so before connecting to the fusetap.
