I’m getting a lot of water in the storage compartment under the driver side rear seat and I’m thinking it’s likely from the pressure vent since the 3rd brake light and gasket were previously replaced.

Where are you guys getting these new pressure vents. Dealer or aftermarket?

Got mine from ebay

Just changed mine today.
Was real quick job since I did the seat fold down mod.

Plus having my buddy help guide it up from the bottom of the truck while I fish into the hole.

But when one or both cab vents seal around the edges start allowing water in, you have two choices move the rear seat out of the way, then do the same with the insulation.
At that point, you can take water & run it between the bed & the rear of the cab, find out where the water intrusion is.
Then you can replace the vent(s) or at least take a Paint Stick & wedge the stick between the cab & the top of the vent Tabs, that pulls the top of the vent tight against sheet metal

What are you referring to when you say the RF Hub above the 3rd picture ? Is that another area of concern?
Also, how does one do the "seat fold down mod"
Thx

The RF Hub is actually just to the left of the Cab Vent
That Hub is actually called the RADIO FREQUENCY HUB
You would not water intrusion in there.

rear seat mod

& a different type seat

Sorry but I'm a newbie to these and I'm a bit lost on the RF hub thing .
EDIT: GOTCHA!!!! I thought you were talking about the RF wheel hub :insane: :Insane: :banghead::banghead:
thanks for the links on the seat mod. I'll likely do them when I replace the rear air vents which I just learned of today.

kinda tough to replace these with a regular, 2-door cab.................
I removed the carpet from the rear cab wall and fished them through the holes to the inside.
It just requires a little bit of patience.
I also applied soundproofing to the wall while exposed, this made a noticeable difference in road noise.

That’s not what I want to hear. I’ve had a leak for a little while on mine and have the inside marinating with DampRid. It doesn’t have the musty smell anymore, so that in itself is a win.

On the other hand, I saw a few of the flaps laying down with some leaves in the space behind the cab. Something to do on vacation next week.

I have a regular cab and it was easy. No rear seats to mess with. After you figure out how to remove the package clips, the carpeted back piece comes right out. Olds vents pop right out. Angle the new from the inside to the outside and snap them in place . Easy peasy.
