Have you ever ran yours at the track or do you plan to? Just curious because i know you make a lot of power.

I'll vouch for Kurtis being at the local track,i've been there when he's been there James.I usually get on his case if he doesn't make it out at least a couple times a season,lol.

He's in the same boat as me,it's about a 2.5 hour drive one way to our closest track,but I usually egg him into making the drive a couple times a season.I try to make it to most Friday nights,but it's a long haul coming home at 2:00 in the morning,lol.

I'd kill for a track an hour away,lol.It's 155 miles one way from my door to the entrance at the closest track.We used to have a good track here,but then the city beaucrats decided the property it was sitting on for the last 30 years had escalated in value enough they wanted the land back,and the city wouldn't renew the 30 year lease when it came up for renewal.Now the city fathers ***** about the amount of street racing that goes on now.Our Mayor and his cohorts aren't all that intelligent about life,lol

Whatever choices you make, it's all about the tuner. Not many of us on this site running an AJ Burgess (Hemituner) with whatever mods. From my own personal experience, his tune is .7 faster than any other tune I have for my truck. The best part of this conversation is his tune is soo strong from launch that I am running a lesser tuners pcm just to save my new tires. Melt those tires at part throttle thru 2nd 60-70mph ease into Wot from there. And that's just his street tune. Hey, have fun with the truck.

Never said that. Considering Matt's truck is in the 11's, I'd say Sean is doing a fine job.

I really wouldn't know but I do know that AJ did do the tune and testing in '13 for SCT@ Arrington with or trucks for the new handheld. So, I'm sure it's got good roots.

Well I know what the handheld produces from SCT and I doubt that it is AJ's work. I have heard a couple good things about him and I wouldn't holdwhat SCT came out as a "canned" tune to what AJ did. I am sure he got the ball rolling.

AJ has my respect as I feel he is one of the few that understands VVT tuning when others get lucky.

Tuned a 6.4 cammed 5.7 car that was going to one of my cams. Ran basically the same times after I tuned it when he still had the 6.4 cam, he wanted to compare before the cam swap. After changing the cam dropped times like a bad habit, due to the obvious 6.4 cams are no good in a 5.7...

I feel my advantage is that I know cam design, which honestly is the only was to truly know how to tune a VVT cam.

Gotta say Jay, I really believe that about you. Only wish I could bring my truck because each tune I have brings a strong point. Would be worth the venture if some of these strong points could be brought together!

What about the risk of damaging your engine, its the easier way but isn’t it less safe for your engine?
