Options are 6.4, 266, 270 or custom. Things needed are new springs, head gaskets, cam and crank bolt, antifreeze, oil and phase limiter if going with a custom or one of the comp cams. Tuning is your biggest hurdle. I spent roughly 600 in parts only because of using the 6.4 cam. Pushrods are not necessary but I changed mine anyway. Modern muscle, high horse performance, can get you everything you need

Which 6.4 cam is best

The none mds (6speed) cam has shown the best Gaines in the cars but would require you to also swap lifters. The big question here is what are you looking for and how far do you want to go. The cam maybe cheap but it also won't give you everything that you maybe looking for.

The guy that does my Dyno rattled of a half dozen cams. That whole cam thing kind of scares me due to warranty issues or killing the warranty.

Did you ever fix your issues you had?

See that's what scares the crap out of me.

While it's still my daily I'm not risking that.

Yes all issues but one are now fixed. The only real issue that really isn't a issue if I hammer on the truck before it warms up it will die when coming to a stop or I try to take a corner flying whIle in open loop. My tuner doesn't have access to the "ramp speed down" function so soon I will be switching tuners to get it full working. When I drive normal everything goes smoothly and I only hammer on it when it warms up.

The dyno thing I haven't figured out. I don't think it was accurate and at this point I will never return to him. I have ran at the track and picked up almost 4 tenths since the cam so i just don't really think the 290 is right.

See, I would have no problem caming a LSx motor. I have many friends with them and most of them are daily driven. Yes things will break, like my buddy just dropped a lifter in his G8. He was using LS7 lifters which have a history of failing, but now he's getting a new 416 LS3 short block...$$$$

anyways. These newer hemi's seem real finicky with Cams and it looks like only a few people know how to tune them from my short research.
It's something I would love to do, but like you this is my daily driver. Don't need a race truck..lol

I think right it's to just through a blower on and let it EAT!!!

Arrington is fixing that very issue right now in my truck. Sitting on the dyno, let you know the outcome later.

Keep us posted. The issue is a little annoying at times

They moved the swing of the cam slightly. Waiting for Johan to make a custom template, should be here tomorrow, it's to remove the check engine due to the change in cam position swing. Hasnt stalled once on cold start. TC is a little loser now seems to flash to 3500., might have to tighten it. I guess we'll see once the relearn happens. They gave me a
yno program that works off of datalogging. Can't wait to check it out, no more long trips, yaaaaah.

What do you mean by "changed the swing of the cam"

Did you ever get this figured out? Any explanation on the "swing templet"

The cam swing adjustment does seem to help but not much. It hasn't stalled on the trip back, but cold it will still want to but doesn't. I haven't got the template yet. I really don't like the overall response. The movement of the cam is definitly different, slower off the line and the check engine light is on as I was told it would be till the template comes. I've taken that PCM out and am running my back up tune/pcm/tool. Once the template comes, I will compare tunes with the TTDyno see what tune is better overall.

My truck only stalls sometimes with a cold start and trying to move. I can live with it till another solution comes if the last revisions isn't worth the loss of low end torque.
