I bought the .5HL cam kit from Jay back in February 2021 with the intention of installing it in my 2012 RAM, but life happened and I didn't get to install it. FF to now and I have a 2013 RAM sport identical to my 2012 (which I no longer own) and since the MDS gods have blessed me with lifter failure, I'm using Jay's kit on it. What I got in my kit was the cam, lifters, springs, shims, seats, and retainers. I've gone through all my emails I could find with Jay and didn't see any mention of needing different pushrods. I've reached out to him through the email address I had for him and DM'd him on FB, but he's not responding. Did any of you out there running his .5HL cam have to change your pushrods? Also, this will be complicated getting a tune for his cam if he's not doing this anymore. Anyone got ideas for a tune?

The results are in. It was the #3 cylinder lifter bearing that collapsed. Here I was blaming the MDS gods and it was a non-MDS lifter. The cam lobe is definitely "chewed up" but was still within spec to keep from throwing any codes. Can't say it would have lasted much longer. Hoping to have it back together soon.

though. IMG_0448.jpegIMG_0440.jpeg

I received pushrods with mine but I had the 1.5HL cam.
Any good tuner can get you going with that cam...... several tuners are better than Greene...mine didn't even leave the shop with his tune after install.....removed......dyno tune instead

I finally opened the cam box and found pushrods included. Answers that question. I never bothered to open the parts because I didn't know I would need them on this RAM. I was able to find someone who wrote me a tune so I'll be installing it once everything is put back together.

Comp Cams does the grind for Greene cams.
Look for serial # on the box (example: Serial # 227114-18)
Will get spec card like for the 1.5HL attached.

Get in touch with Tommy Oden @ Comp Cams

Big shout out to Mario at MI Tuning for getting my truck tuned after the upgrades. I provided Mario the cam specs along with my bolt on upgrades and he provided me a base tune the following morning. After much data logging and revisions, Mario produced a tune for the engine and tranny that makes my truck run like a beast. Smooth thru the full range. Not only did Mario give me the kind of tune I wanted, but he listened to my feedback from each data log and hit it out of the park. A special thank you to Pull Ya for recommending Mario to me. When you need a custom tune for your HEMI using a Diablo tuner MI Tuning is the source! This is with my Borla Touring exhaust. Looking forward to hearing it with the S-Type.

Sounds good, going to sound great with the Borla S! It will make the chop a little more noticeable too!!

I removed the Borla yesterday and installed an AWE OFG Exhaust. Found the sound I was looking for. When your under the hood upgrades mean business...your exhaust should too!

This was the very first start upon completion of the install.

This was the 'walk around' segment. Driving around it has a sound character that is an attention getter outside, but quiet on the inside. I ran it today at various speeds and loads with absolutely zero drone at cruise.
