Craigslist. Got mine for $450 or so. Already painted to match.

That's cool if you find one already painted to match your truck. I have been looking for a tailgate like that daily.

You can check with different camper shell dealers like, Snug Top, Leer and others. The downside is that most of the name brands are reallllllly expensive. As was suggested Craig's List might be a good place also. One thing to remember, most of the guys around here think you have to be an old guy like us to have a camper shell-----LOL

I got mine for $900 on CL and painted to match for another $500. Oh and $70 to have the keyless wired up. Heck of a lot cheaper than the ~$2K it was new. I’ve bought them new before but much happier with this route.

Used to be a company in texas called magacablongbed. They worked right with the dealership and had full warranty. Dont know if they are still doing it or not. If I remember correctly it was about $8000 To have them do it.

I had asked my dealer about ordering a mega long bed years n years ago.
(when they 1st came out)
I was told Ram wouldn’t make them because the wheel base would be in the commercial truck category.
I asked about this because I owned a hot shot trucking company. After that I never thought of it again. I know about stretching frames and custom truck builds.

Will a 8 ft camper shell that fits a different cab style or one for a 1500/3500 truck fit on my beast? Or are the beds different for each truck style?
Will one for a ford/chevy 8 ft bed fit?

My terminology might be off. Truck is 4 door 2500 with 8 ft bed. Thought this was a mega cab.

Ram to Ram only. Yes the Ram 8’ beds are the same according to the generation of the truck.
