If it isn't under warranty anyway not sure it really matters? Mine shows no signs of being any different than any other Ram out there other than that yellow sticker. I think the owners manual also has French on it but not sure.

My understanding is that the market in Canada is such that they have to sell the units cheaper than they do in the USA - thus to curtail everyone just going to Canada and buying one on the cheap and bringing it back - they do not honor the warranty in the USA of Canadian sold units.

When i was buying mine - I would only buy a certified unit and they can not sell the Canadian ones as certified because they can not sell the extended warranty for them - so I bought a USA unit from a different dealer.

They don't sell trucks or anything period cheaper in Canada. We're usually at least 10G higher up here on any given vehicle.Where the savings are incurred is the differance in the dollar

I bought mine here in PA but it was from Canada. Had 8000 miles on it. Dealers are going to Canada to get them cheaper then bringing them back here to make a profit. Some new car dealers were buying trailer loads brand new from Canadian dealers and bringing them back here. This is why they stopped honoring the warranties on those. There is a way to transfer the warranty though, I did it. Had my touchscreen replaced under warranty too. They will not transfer it until you have 15,000km's on it (about 9300 miles). This helps stop them from bringing brand new trucks over. This info all came from the dealer and/or Ram themselves. My truck is fully warrantied now and my son also got his transferred but he never had to have any warranty work done and he has almost 80,000 miles now so warranty is out anyway.

There are 2 different codes. I can't remember what they are but something like 593 and 597. One is eligible to transfer and one isn't. Mine and my sons both were.

Ok folks, let me clear up some of this warranty discussion here.

This applies to 13-18 model years, any truck that was sold in Canada that has " warranty coverage code (wcc) 595 & 596 is eligible for the remainder of the factory warranty to be transferred back to the U.S. market when the vehicle is registered in the U.S.

Now here is the catch, minimum mileage must be 9315 mi (15000 kilometers) and must have been a FLEET / RENTAL vehicle for atleast the FIRST 6 MONTHS after being sold in Canada.
That means the first owner had to either lease or rent out the truck, example Hertz, Avis, Enterprise......

I bought a Canadian truck from a used dealer in Jackson, Michigan. They did not mention that it had no warranty till I was signing the papers. But $29000 for a "16" 2500 4x4 cclb 5.7 with 29000 miles and a engine with 2600ish miles that neither the dealer nor I knew about. Good deal.

I learned about all this doing more research on my new truck.

Ok, now when you have meet all the requirements, go to your dealer service department, let them know you would like transfer your warranty. Provide registration and driver license and they can do it right there. Takes 2 min.

Google "Mopar warranty bulletin D-16-03" this will have all the above mentioned and a little more.

Hope this clears up some of the warranty talk.

Yep. I wasn't told about it until I was ready to sign the papers but they told me the warranty was fine and I didn't need to do anything. After I got home I spent the weekend researching and found horror stories. Monday morning I called FCA and was told I could transfer it but I didn't have enough miles. Called back and then was told I could not transfer. 4 of the 5 I spoke to told me I could transfer it. I called my local dealer and they said they had done this before and over the phone they went into Dealer Connect and it rejected due to too low of miles. I then called back after I hit the minimum mileage and they did it over the phone. My son bought an identical truck from the same dealer with 6000 miles on it. He left for a 1500 miles trip a week later and hit his mileage limit on the way (he puts a ton of miles on, has 80,000 on his 2018 already). I called the same dealer and gave them his VIN and they did his over the phone also while he was 1500 miles away. The dealer has to go into Dealer Connect to do it and it literally takes a few minutes to do.

Our trucks were from a fleet service but barely a scratch on them. They had another that was beat up pretty bad. We both paid $40,000 for ours. They are pretty loaded except leather, heated seats, and sunroof. Has pretty much everything else. Full console with 8.4" touch screen, power/defrost rear slider. They didn't have tow mirrors but we both bought the 1A Trail Ridge tow mirrors. I actually probably got a better deal cause I traded my 2013 1500 Express with 60,000 miles on it. 2 dealers were going to give me $14,000 but this one gave me $18,000 so I kind of got this one for closer to $36,000 net...lol. My son didn't trade anything and paid the full $39,995 but he only had 6000 miles on it.

FWIW FCA isn't the only one that does this. Honda does too. GM does not. My step-son bought a 2018 GMC from a GMC dealer and the warranty was still good.

Also, I heard that FCA dropped this in 2019 and their warranties are honored now. Not sure if this is true though.
