So today I decided to do the very controversial throttle body ground and since I was there I went to empty my catch can. This is what I found.......should I be worried? Truck has 8500 miles, checked underneath the oil cap and pulled the dipstick and all that looked fine, smelled it too and smells just like oil no coolant. I've emptied the catch can before but it has never looked like this before.

If you don't t have water in the oil i'd say its just condensation that built up in the catch can

Mine looked like that after I emptied it yesterday so either you shouldn't be worried or we should both be worried haha

This time of year it will look like that because of condensation in the catch can... nothing to worry about at all.

I am amazed by how much crap my catch can catches. Mine is homemade but very effective. Always a lot of moisture in it and some oil too.

I dont see the throttle body ground working, unless the grounds off the chassie are crappy...Another thought to is what about electronic noise that the extra ground might create to confuse the ecu, which could also be caused by bad chassie grounding..Hell i spoze a starter or alt that on its way out could do that and frig up the ecu a smidge and the extra grounding could bring it back to where it should be..That might fool some into thinking its added responce rather than you have gotten used to the lack of responce

Reminds me, I should go check mine. I have yet to check it since install but I can't remember when I installed it, lol. Haven't hit an oil change yet though since install and I installed it after the 30k tune up so it's creeping on 2k miles.

Thanks for all the responses, glad its nothing to be worried about. Just really odd to see that color and it is amazing how much crap the can keeps out.

So......what do you think of the tb ground?

Honestly, I really don't notice any difference. It was a free mod so it was worth a shot.

I bought mine off ebay. Cheaper than BT, but still gets the job done.
