Can't get Android Auto to work.

I only want maps on my stock radio screen and the Android Auto app says it is supposed to do it, and more. I don't know if I'm doing it wrong, or if Android Auto just won't work with my radio. I have a 2018 2500 6.7 TD, Tradesman. Does any of y'all know about Android Auto or another way to get maps on my screen without buying a whole new radio? Thank you!

Tell us about your radio. My 2018 with the 8.4 radio shows my Google Maps through Android Auto just fine.

Buy a good data rated USB cable for your phone and make sure the radio recognizes it when it's plugged in.
Make sure you have the latest version of Android Auto loaded on your phone too.

I have a U-Connect 3. I tried a few different cables that work with my other devices and I do have the latest AA version. I'm thinking my radio is not compatible. How can I find out? Thank you.

i think it is your 5" head unit.

That is my radio model, but the vid doesn't address AA or maps options. Thanks though.

AA in now only compatible with Android 12. So if you have not upgraded your AA, dont allow it or you will lose functionality on phones that cannot use Android 12.

If you have the Uconnect 3 (5" screen) that looks like the below, then it does not support AA. Best it has is Bluetooth and voice texting.
