Can't Make Outgoing Calls with Voice Commands; Contact List Never Updates

I have a 2018 Big Horn with 8.4 UConnect. Lately when driving and I try to make a call to someone using voice commands I am unable to make the call and I get this message, "That operation is unavailable. I'm still updating your contact list for voice recognition."

When I first noticed this a couple weeks ago, I was on drive that took over an hour and the contact list never updated. Since then I've taken a couple of shorter drives, today was about 40 minutes, and still no update to the contact list.

When I go to the phone screen on the UConnect system my Contact Icon is grayed out, indicating there are no contacts in the UConnect system.

If I plug my phone into Android Auto and use Google Assistant I can make outgoing calls using voice commands.

What's going on? Any ideas on how to fix it?

I may have figured it out. On my phone I go to:

Settings
Connected Devices and Bluetooth
UConnect settings
Contact Sharing, moved from OFF to ON position

Yes, that setting on my phone was the problem and it is now fixed and working as it should.

That happens a lot when the phone updates the operating system. It happened with my iPhone a couple of times.
