Hi guys, ive got the 4.7 in my 2003 ram 1500. had some issues with it a few days ago, was driving it early in the morning when it was cold, i let the truck warm up before driving. drove about 10 miles and truck starts idleing funny, it sounded exactly like a diesel truck. a mile or 2 later the truck loses power slowly and dies, i pull over, give it a second and it starts back up, drive another mile or 2 and engine starts loosing power again i pull over, engine turns over but wont start. during the second break down it still seemed to turn over just fine, it was trying to fire, it just wouldnt start. I towed it back home to work on it later during the day. well when i come home to work on it and start turning the motor over its acting kind of like there is no compression. i check compression....ive got good compression accross the board except for the first 2 cylinders on the passanger side of the engine. ok...so maybe a cracked block, cracked head or blown head gasket....im not sure.....we suspected maybe a broken timing chain...my injectors are still clicking which tells me that cam and crank both have to be rotating since for the injectors to pulse they need signal from the cam and crank sensor. the truck has fuel spraying from the injectors, fire from the coils and spark plugs....and compression in 6 cylinders out of 8.....so why wont it try to fire? has anyone had this happen to them? any suggestions? im not getting any trouble codes
