I have a 2014 ram 3500 longhorn edition and it already has the 8.4 uconnect and backup camera in the tailgate but I wanted to add the cargo camera for hooking up my gooseneck and a front camera to making parking this long beast easier. After researching options and not liking what I found I came up with my own way. I bought a used Mopar cargo camera, a front camera off Amazon and a video input switcher for adding the front camera with the cargo cam. I ordered a custom cargo cam harness with an RCA connection under the console area from M² mods and the input switcher I got from quality mobile video. I'm not too good at write ups but I tried to take a few pics along the way to help anyone else that wants to do this. I will outline the install in the next postIMG_20191017_124831.jpg IMG_20191017_124836.jpg

First, I mounted the camera to the front license plate, routed the wires to the battery for power and the RCA plug to the hole in the firewall for the ebrake cable. From there, I tired it up out of the way under the driver's footwell and routed it under the cupholders in the center console which is where it meets the video switcher and the harness for the cargo cam. Cargo cam harness and switcher where both installed per the included instructions except that I tapped into the cig lighter for power and ran the reverse input of the switcher to always be powered with the key on so I can always see the cargo cam.

Also I just noticed I forgot to take a picture of the parts under the cupholders! It is very simple though, I looped and ziptied the extra cables, hooked to cig lighter power and ground and used double sided tape to stick the module to the plastic under there

So you bought a used Mopar camera, could this be done using two front cameras bought?

Your 2019 has no cargo camera from the factory? And it has the cargo camera wiring, the round cargo camera connector behind your third brake light? You would be the first to have the cargo camera harness in a non-cargo camera equipped truck, that would be a great find.

To have your Ram recognize the cargo camera read up on the AphaOBD thread in the DIY section, read the first post closely for a lot of info and go from there. You can make the BCM changes yourself with the AlphaOBD program or have the dealer add the option.
