I'm a total noob to the world of trucks to start. I grew up riding dirt bikes in parks by my house and drag racing my AWD Eagle Talon and other ricers (I'm Asian, it's cool lol).
But now with my truck, literally all my Co workers and friends constantly ask me when I'm going to lift it, if not, lower it? My reply is always the same; I have no plans on taking her mudbogging or off road unless absolutely necessary, so why would I "have to" lift it? Not lowering because that's just not my particular cup of tea either.
Admittedly it's getting really old parking at work and having all the guys with their 4-6+" lift kits saying my "Tonka truck" is so cute.
I get its similar to the bike world. God forbid you buy a bike and don't replace that stock exhaust ASAP, as if it's some rite of passage.
Is this attitude towards non lifted trucks the norm? I'm not rich so even if I wanted to lift it, I'd be shelling out a grand or two just to finally "fit in."
As I've said, the truck world is foreign to me and I initially thought the lift questions were just Co workers poking me. But I'll be getting gas and someone will say, "Nice truck man, when you gonna lift that bad boy?"
So what's up??
(please don't misinterpret this as me throwing shade on lifted trucks, it's simply I don't get why everyone insists I get a kit).
