Center console

I have a 2014 ram 1500 and the center console is my issue. I don't have an issue with the latches, it's the part where the latch clip clips to lock the lid. The issue is the bottom bigger storage. Again it's the opening where the latch clip goes into. Any suggestions??

Is it missing the brace for the latch to latch onto or is it loose and has play? If it is the latter than what I would do is grab from tessa tape and wrap the brace to make it thicker.
