Changing diff fluid..red line?

You recommend a good diff cover?

stock, google the Gayle Banks series on Diff covers, H395 has posted them here. The juice aint worth the squeeze on changing diff covers.

Yup! I wasn't even going to mention the Billionaire Banks!

Blaster: Just pick one that you can afford that has a easy to get to fill plug and simple drain plug!

Mag-Hytec / BD / AFE / G2 / PPE / ATS / PML!

Most are around $290-$350 ---> in my simple mind (These are expensive)
I'm going with the PML when the time comes.

Might even find some no name brand from Jegs & Summit that will work perfectly!

I'm just installing these aftermarket covers for fast - easy - mess free Service!
If I get any type of temp drop it will be just a added benefit!

Just doing what my Gut tells me would be best for me (Body) & the JUDGE
I also talk to and get good advice from other Long Time RVers (Whom are retired) who tow full time & are willing to share their negative & positive experiences with me.

After market covers installed on the Rearend & Frontend & Transmission has many long term advantages if any type of Towing is involved & you don't want to spend a 1/2 day servicing the unit or units.

at least watch this video before upgrading differential cover. The round stock cover is easier on fluid then the square awkward after market ones.

Tantore: Do You tow any? if so how heavy and for how many miles at a time?

If you tow is it mainly in the hot summer?

If you don't tow! I can see RL easily holding up to 50K miles! (maybe longer)!
All depends on how much and long you abuse your power train.


If you fish with a boat a lot and submerge your rearend in H2O --> That is a whole other can of worms!

Will definitely use Redline for my front and rear diff. Also dont forget the transfer case.

Btw, what mileage and age are you guys replacing your diff. fluid? FCA says not to change them until something stupid like 160,000km or actually even longer unless it's a police or fleet vehicle.

So with this window sticker is my rear dif a 3.42 or a 3.73 I hate when they put them both on there like this. Just put what it has.

Question: since I have a 2wd drive do I still need to change my transfer case and front diff fluids? I’m really not sure about this so don’t judge hard

You don't have a transfer case, those are used by a 4x4 system to "transfer" power to the front. no diff in front.

WE can help out any one in the US looking for Red Line. We know the quantities and what you should use. Also after selling tons of gear oils, feedback from customers determines that friction modifier is NOT necessary to use with Red Line. So not only can we save you on Red Line, you can save a few bucks by not needing the friction modifier. Unfortunately we can not ship Red Line to Canada tho, sorry my northern friends.

Ya Nick's got the Deal's just did my second Oil change (since I've own my rig) and always get my Redline there

Partsource sells it (Ontario I know of) but not listed on their website. I always order mine from Overdose Preformance out of Quebec plus Free shipping across Canada.
