changing shift points

any have experience changing shift points?
got a hypertech max energy...looking for better MPG..i can change shift points by 100 rpm increments..i dont want to experiment but tap into everyones experience ...what would you all suggest?

It has been done many times, but mostly with custom tunes from a popular vendor on the boards. I don't know if hemifever is doing hypertech, maybe so but Diablo for sure. If your tuner allows you to change in 100 RPM increments that would be great. I believe Tow Haul button changes the shift points in the neighborhood of 500rpm's or better, don't know for sure. I will say however I seriously doubt you will get better gas mileage, but I think your truck will drive way better.

I know the diablo T1000 has a MPG option but I use it to go fast with a custom tune if you increase your shift points usually it's at WOT and I don't see any MPG gain. But, I know nothing about the tuner you got.
