Hi all,
Currently in the process of finalizing an order on a 2014 3500 Crew Cab DRW Laramie 6.7 Aisin. I'm a GC and I'm currently driving an 06 2500 Reg Cab LBZ D-Max which I will be keeping for plowing and a 2nd truck.
I'm going bigger because I want to and I had an accident while towing when the trailer brakes locked briefly and took me and the chevy for a ride. The trailer weighs 4K empty and it drug me around like I was in a go kart until the utility pole stopped me. I have also upgraded to a larger 8.5x18 box trailer which I use for a mobile shop. As of now the max weight I'm towing is 12-14K with the dump. It's more wind resistance on the highway with the box trailer.
My questions would be how are these Aisin's and the newer RAMs in general and has anyone else come from a D-Max and what your thoughts are? My Chevy has been solid I have beat the crap out of it exceeding the max GVWR regularly and plow commercial lots with it which took some $$$$ to get the front end up to the task.
Thanks
