Hi all, just got a check engine warning “Service electronic throttle controller” truck went into limp mode. I pulled over and turned of the truck and restarted, limp mode is gone but I still have engine light on. 7000 miles on the truck and just had it serviced this past Friday. There were a few software updates along with PCM, airbag, tailgate and all were recalls. Possibly related?

Is your pedal commander the 1st generation w/o BT? I've seen this exact thing on my fathers 5.7 with the 1st gen pedal commander. I just had to go clear the codes, but since then he's kept the PC disconnected. He got lucky it happened in the drive way out here at the property instead of out on the road or at my parents place since it took a full clearing of the codes and yanking the battery to get it to move again.

It's still a possibility it was the PC doing something the truck didn't like. I've seen another thread somewhere where the PC caused issues for someone. When his did it the pedal did nothing, but changing modes on the PC would move the idle RPM's around. I'm still running my 2nd gen, but I can clear codes from my Radio via iDatalink and I keep basic scanner/code clearing tool in the truck.

It’s possible but I have had the PC for several months now without issues.

So did he unfortunately. Not ******** on the PC at all, but I've personally seen it bug out. That's why I started carrying one of my basic scan tools in the truck just in case it happened to me.

Took the truck into the dealership this morning, they did a scan and pulled a code (not sure which one) they just said it was throttle related. I left it there and hopefully I will know something by tomorrow.

Got my truck back today, code was P2138. They replaced the accelerator pedal due to internal failure.

But what if the issue repeats as soon as you plug your PC back in?

I know typically with accelerator pedal position sensors, if it's 'position' doesn't jive exactly with the throttle body position sensor, this code will get set.

I have the Bluetooth PC and this has happened to me once. Checked all connections, cleared the code and has been good for 7k-10k miles.
