Looking good! Can't wait to see it in person!

Thanks man! I can't wait to see yours and everyone else's as well. I think mine will probably be the most stock truck there since I ran out of funds for mods but eventually it'll be a beast haha

Thanks man I really appreciate it. I almost never use AM or FM radio. I mostly use XM or listen to my iPod through the USB port. But it seems to me that the radio signal is slightly worse with my stubby. But keep in mind that I got a crappy off the shelf one from auto zone (specifically for looks only since I never use AM or FM). I suspect that if you bought a more reputable one like the cravenspeed, it would work better. For me, I really just bought it for looks and so I didn't bang my antenna into the roof of every parking garage I drive into haha.

You can definitely still enjoy the FM radio, I only noticed a slight decrease in signal quality. Specifically when the truck was stopped at a light or stuck in traffic and not moving was when it was most noticeably worse.

Hope this helps!

So I was out running errands the other day and picked up a bottle of STP Fuel Injector Cleaner. I previously had used STP in my old vehicle and it lasted me over 200,000 miles so I'm hoping for the same result with my Ram. I haven't put any STP fuel additives in the truck yet, I used Gumout once just out of curiosity but that's the only additive I've used so far.

Anyone have any knowledge or opinions about the effectiveness of STP fuel additives?

I have never actually tried STP before in any of my vehicles so I can't say from personal experience. I do know some people that swear by Marvel Mystery Oil...

Interesting. That sounds like something out of a superhero movie lol. I'll have too look for it next time I'm at the auto parts store.

Thought I'd throw this up here. My buddy bought a new BMW and we met up today. Here's a crappy cell phone pic of us standing in front of our vehicles

Alright I made it down to North Carolina with the beast. Averaged 21.7 mpg's over a total of around 380 miles. Pretty darn good for the Hemi if you ask me. My overall average for mpg's is now at 19.2, with just over 5,100 miles. Of course that's all according to the EVIC, so realistic numbers will be slightly different but it gives a good idea.

Can't wait to get the truck out on the beach and fill the Ram Boxes up with beer. I'll try to take some good pics along the way and post em' all up when I'm done.

Nice man that's really impressive! When you consider the curb weight of these is 6000+ and they have a 395hp Hemi, this is nothing short of amazing. I did a purely highway trip a few weeks ago and the EVIC said 21.4 but my calculations were 23.3. Of course that's filling up right before getting on the highway, not driving around much while there, and filling up again right after getting off the highway when I got back. So it seems the EVIC is conservative on mpg. Definitely a pleasant surprise!

Wow that's really great to know that both of you guys got conservative readings from the EVIC. I was thinking that mine must have been on the conservative side as well because I made it down here with close to half a tank left. I was amazed at the mileage I was able to get.
I most likely won't have to get gas until we leave in a week, and I haven't filled up since we left home.

I also put STP Fuel Injector Cleaner into the truck before I left. So we'll see how that does as well.

So I just got back home from the road trip to the
Outer Banks in NC. One of the best vacations I've ever had. And here's the EVIC info on my trip...

Finally had a chance to install the Uconnect update on my system. Install took about 30 minutes total from downloading the update on my computer to the whole thing being installed in the truck.

The sound quality is a lot better in the truck now, and it's louder also. Really happy with how easy and effective the update is.

i had problems connecting my uconnect with the uconnect store when i first got my truck several weeks ago now. was on the line for over 30 minutes with a tech and he final give my a ticket number for a smarter person to help me. they called a few days later and advised they sent me a update and told me to attempt to log into the store again and it did work. everything in uconnect is working according now. :)

What speed were you at on the highway to get that MPG? My sport around town has been around 13.3 :/ according to my average mpg on the screen. Stock 3.55 6 speed with 500miles on the clock

Seen 15-16 highway but wasnt on it too long. Will be heading to houston, tx in a couple of weeks to get a good baseline of what my highway mpg will be. Hoping to stay a steady 75mph

Nice truck by the way, will be plast-dipping my badges too

Oh wow, awesome. I'll have to call then and see if I can have the same thing done for my truck. Thanks for the info!!

I normally stay on cruise control at about 10mph over the speed limit. On the trip that meant an average of about 70mph on the highway.

And thanks!! I really appreciate it. Love the way the dipped badges look.

I find on mine, the Fuel Economy menu of the EVIC seems to be way conservative. For instance, right now on my truck it reads 15.4 but if you look in the trip A menu, it reads 17.1. I did the math when I filled up the last time and it was within .5 MPG of what Trip A said but way off from what the fuel economy menu said. I do reset the Trip A every time I fill up, but leave the Fuel Economy as kind of a rolling average. Just something to keep in mind...

Excellent info, I had no idea about that. From now on, I'll reset my Trip A everytime I fill up. Thanks for the advice! It's strange that two different components of the same computer give different info...

Hahah no worries man! I would have gone faster if I could have. Speed limits down in the outer banks were very very low where we stayed. And I agree, my previous vehicle was a 2003 Ford Escape with a 3.2L V6, and my Hemi gets much better gas mileage than the Escape did.

Great build you got going on! Seems like half the trucks come Linex'd already, mine did but another I was looking at didn't. Beats the hell out of the plastic drop in liners!
