Hey guys,

I got a new Ram 1500 the other day and have a question for ya'll. I've never had chrome wheels before and was unsure how to clean them, I was wondering if you guys knew anything to keep them from looking so streaked all the time?

I'm not sure if they're real chrome or chrome plated, or whatever as this is my first experience with them, but I'll include a picture. It seems like they get streaked and spotted after just two or three days and it drives me crazy.

I have no problem with cleaning them every few days, but I was hoping you guys could recommend something that would hurt them (crack, chip, peel, ect.. idk). I would like something I could just spray on, rinse off and dry. So far, it takes a lot of elbow grease to clean these things.

So, any advice on an easy, safe cleaning method?

-Thanks.

Soap towel and water. Lol. That's what I've used. And they're basically a plastic capped "chrome" wheel.

Chrome-clad wheels are aluminum rims with a plastic faux-chrome dish on the outside. Treat it just like any other piece of shiny plastic.
One warning, if you have raised white letter tires (e.g. OEM Goodyears), be careful if you use a bleacher to get the brake dust off the white. If it sits on faux chrome plastic it can etch it--just like brake dust can over time.

Cleaned genlty with car soap, Fukken wax then provides protection as suggested ^^

Invisible Glass or Ultima UWW+

Besides, manual says not to use aggressive cleaner and/or polish

Nev-R-Dull wadding "polish" works like a hot damn, and gently cleans out any brake dust/road debris while not having anything in it to scratch the surface.

Soap and water, meguiars hot rims all wheel cleaner, eagle one never dull polish, then a coat of wax is what I use on mine. I've heard claybarring works good too but I've never done it
